Clean Up is Underway!

This week you will find Payne County Youth Services working in Downtown Stillwater.  Specifically, they are working on many of our alleyways, removing weeds, trash and painting. 

Alley’s in any part of a City tend to be an area that are overlooked, filling with trash, weeds, graffiti and plenty of other stuff that no one really wants to look at. But alleys are public spaces and in many communities they have found ways to not only keep them clean and usable, but also beautiful. I would guess most business owners would tell you this is an area that they just can’t afford to maintain, and after years, and years of neglect, they cleanup seems almost impossible.

 We hope with the efforts this week and in the future by groups like Payne County Youth Services we will be able to help keep these areas better maintained.  Hopefully our efforts will inspire others to continue with the maintenance of these spaces, making Downtown Stillwater a great place to shop, dine and operate a business!
